Yes, it is time to recognize one of the best engines ever made. I recognize that earlier versions rang in at 170ci, but I think the 225ci version is probably the best known.

I really do love the slant 6 engine. Not only because I own one, but because of the culture around them. They are really one of the unsung heroes of automotive history.

when I was little my mom had a ‘72 Duster with the 225. Car basically rusted away around the engine. Which, being a ‘70s Mopar, well, yeah.

“best” part of that car was the black vinyl seats.  always fun getting in that thing during summer while wearing shorts.

Yeah, those seats can get toasty. I had mine redone with black vinyl and...ouch.

Shouldn’t Mopar 3:7 be about the Powertech 3.7 OHC V6 given that it’s exactly 3701cc while the 225 Slant Six was only 224.7 CID or 3682cc ?

Here’s my slant six visiting Le Mans 24h race in 2017. I bought the car ~ 3400 km away from home but I managed to visit cool places while returning limping . The driveshaft was badly balanced and 80 km/h was the highest speed that I dared to keep. The ignition and carburetor were also badly tuned.

I also visited Spa and Anderstorp racetracks. Anderstorp didn’t have anything going on but at least I did see the track and visited the pits.

The body is quite dented. 40 years of Spanish traffic has left none of the body panels untouched. The vinyl roof also hides a nasty surprise below the rear window...

I’m probably the only one here who doesn’t think of Mopar when they see/hear that firing order. For me, I think Holden, all because of a single song.
